It's a one-off cash payment announced as part of Budget 2026's broader cost-of-living support package, sitting alongside U-Save rebates, CDC Vouchers, and CPF top-ups. The "enhanced" label reflects a April 2026 top-up, the original Budget 2026 amount was $200–$400; an additional $200 was added for every eligible recipient in response to ongoing cost pressures, bringing the current range to $400–$600.
Who qualifies?
Singapore Citizen
Aged 21 and above in 2026
Assessable Income (Year of Assessment 2025) of $100,000 or below
Own no more than one property
The relatively high income ceiling means this reaches a broad group of working Singaporeans, not just lower-income households, though the payout amount itself is still weighted toward those with lower income and smaller homes.
This is where we have to be upfront: the government hasn't published the exact tier breakpoints. What's confirmed is the overall range ($400–$600) and the general rule, lower Assessable Income and a lower Annual Value home puts you toward the higher end, while higher income or a higher-AV home puts you toward $400. For your exact figure, use the SupportGoWhere benefits calculator, don't rely on a guessed table, since precise cut-offs can shift.
September 2026, automatically. No application required. If you have a PayNow-NRIC-linked bank account, that's where it lands by default. Without one, you'll receive it via GovCash instead. Worth checking your PayNow-NRIC linkage now if you're not sure it's set up correctly.
Same principle as the GSTV payout: this is money that wasn't part of your regular budget to begin with. Before it blends into groceries and bills, consider redirecting part of it, whether to an emergency fund, paying down a specific debt, or building a small savings habit.
Do I need to apply for this payment?
No. It's automatically assessed and credited, no application needed.
How is this different from the GSTV Cash payout?
They're separate schemes with separate eligibility criteria and payout dates. GSTV Cash is paid in August with a lower income ceiling ($39,000); the Cost-of-Living Special Payment is paid in September with a higher ceiling ($100,000). You may qualify for both.
What if my Annual Value or income changed this year?
Eligibility is based on your Assessable Income for YA2025 and your home's Annual Value as recorded, check the SupportGoWhere calculator for your specific assessment basis.
I didn't receive the original Budget 2026 amount earlier this year. Will I get the full $400–$600 in September, or just the top-up?
The full $400–$600 is disbursed as one payment in September 2026, you don't need to have received an earlier payment to get this one.
